Regulations Governing the Special Fund

Article 1: Objective

The Special Fund of the Foreign Language Teaching Resource Center was established to earmark funds to ensure the proper use of the Center’s income, to update equipment, and to improve the multimedia language learning environment.

 

Article 2: Source of the Special Fund

1. Income made in the recording and production of audiovisual materials.

2. Fines from the late return of audiovisual materials and equipment.

 

Article 3: Fund Details

The Special Fund is earmarked for the Center. The account number is  F500901. The original account number was 207005 (F2125021).

 

Article 4: Uses of the Special Fund

The Special Fund may only be accessed if the annual budget is insufficient due to an urgent or innovative plan that year. The Special Fund may be used for the following purposes:

  1. Replacing equipment in the Audiovisual Library.
  2. Plans and renovations for the Audiovisual Library.
  3. Promoting the research and development of software and hardware related to distance learning.
  4. Hardware and software needed in the Self-Learning Language Lab.
  5. Maintenance and updates on recording equipment in the Media Lab.
  6. Purchase of audiovisual materials for the Audiovisual Library.
  7. Expenses related to the Audiovisual Library and Materials Production Room.

   

Article 5: Procedure

The Center will make a list of purchase items after eliciting the suggestions of staff at the Center and members of the Committee for any items that meet the uses specified above and that conform with the objective of the Special Fund. A single purchase that is less than NT$50,000 must be approved at the monthly meeting of the Center. A single purchase that is NT$50,000 or more must be approved by the Committee before the application is made to the Office of General Affairs. Every academic year a financial report will be made to the Committee.

 

Article 6

These Regulations have been passed at the monthly meeting of the Foreign Language Teaching Resource Center, by the Foreign Language Teaching Resource Committee, and will be promulgated and implemented upon approval of the Dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Literatures. The same procedure will be followed for each amendment.
